Greyhound Scales were recently supplied by Accuweigh’s Brisbane branch to the Greyhound Racing Club at Capalaba.
The Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club had recently taken over operation of the Capalaba racetrack and stewards were unhappy with the condition of the existing greyhound scales being used to weigh the dogs prior to each race.
The club chose to replace these aging greyhound scales with identical modern equipment as used at Brisbane’s Albion Park and at the Ipswich greyhound track. The previous greyhound scales used a mechanical scale base fitted with an electro-conversion kit which was nearing the end of its working life and could not be certified for trade use.
The new greyhound scales are fully digital comprising an A&D HW load cell base mated to a Rinstrum R323 digital weight indicator. The existing cage was fitted to the new greyhound scales which were then programmed, calibrated and certified for trade use as per the club’s requirement.
Accuweigh will be servicing the new greyhound scales on a regular basis to ensure accurate weights are maintained and reported on as per the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club’s requirements.
