Digital Crane Scales
Accuweigh’s Salter branch in Melbourne recently supplied a set of digital crane scales to a NSW tent manufacturer to enable correct tensioning of the support cables on large tents. MPP Industries in Albury were supplied a set of digital crane scales with shackles to enable precision adjustment to cable tensions to be done to increase tent stability under strong winds.
The digital crane scales are connected to each support cable in turn, to display the exact cable tension which can then be adjusted by turnbuckles to ensure optimum tent stability is achieved. These crane scales have a weighing capacity of 1000kg displayed in 1kg divisions.
The Dillon ED digital crane scales are ideal for this application as they are powered by two “C” cell batteries which are fitted into a sealed battery compartment to enable fully portable operation. A large 26mm high LCD is used to display the weight readings and is ideal for use in bright sunlight.
