Accuweigh’s Salter branch in Melbourne recently supplied six sets of digital crane scales to a major transport company in Victoria to address OH&S issues. The crane scales are being used for training operators on correctly tensioning loads to avoid load movements during transportation.

These six sets of digital scales are used for training operators on the correct tensioning required to ensure loads are adequately restrained but without causing physical damage to the goods through over tightening.

Salter’s Dillon EDX-5t digital crane scales are ideal for this application as they are load cell based, featuring a very light but robust body manufactured in aircraft quality aluminium. The crane scale’s digital display uses large 26mm high digits that are mounted flush with the metal body for complete weatherproofing.

Internal fitted “C” cell batteries power the digital scales for a very long operational time of approximately 200 hours of actual use before requiring replacement. Load shackles are supplied with the Dillon extreme crane scales which are ideal for using with load tensioning devices.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company with branches in all mainland states providing sales and service support on all crane scales, hanging scales and digital dynamometers.
