Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch recently developed a digital grip tester for Ansell Asia pacific in South Australia. The grip tester is used to confirm the gripping capabilities of Ansell’s latest range of non-slip gloves. The digital grip tester comprises a lifting jig with 10kg of weights, a digital weight indicator and custom data capture software.
Two load cells are fitted inside the test jig handle to measure the compressive force required to stop the weighted handle from slipping out of the glove being tested. The force readings are sent from the digital indicator to a laptop running custom software for display in graph format for appraisal of each gloves performance.
Ansell use this digital grip tester at trade shows to prove the non-slip capabilities of various gloves in their own range and for comparisons with competitors’ products.
