CRANE SCALES MINIMISE OVERLOADING FINES

Accuweigh’s Perth branch supplied two sets of crane scales to Score Pacific’s Welshpool plant in Western Australia.

The crane scales are being used for weighing heavy items as they are loaded onto trucks to allow the truck drivers and operator to optimise the load positioning to minimise instances of truck overloading and unbalanced axle weights.

The Korean manufactured CAS crane scales were supplied in two different models, a Caston 3 crane scale with a weighing capacity of 5 tonnes and a Caston 2 crane scale also with a weighing capacity of 5 tonnes. The Caston 3 crane scales were supplied with a wireless hand held remote control to ensure the crane operator can see the weight reading when the crane scales are suspended high above heavy and large items like gas turbines as they are lifted onto the trucks.

The Caston 2 crane scales are used inside the factory for weighing the lighter and smaller items like valves, etc prior to loading. Both sets of crane scales are fitted with internal rechargeable batteries and were also supplied with a spare battery pack and battery charger to ensure continued crane scale operations over extended periods.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has eight branches across Australia providing sales and service support on crane scales, weighbridges and all industrial weighing equipment.
