COUNTING SCALES MODIFIED FOR ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE BLIND

Counting Scales

Ten sets of counting scales were recently supplied by Accuweigh’s Port Adelaide branch to SA’s Gilles Plains branch of the Royal Society For The Blind.

The counting scales were fitted with high visibility remote displays to enable them to be operated by sight impaired workers.

Most portable counting scales utilise power saving LCD displays for extended battery operation, but unfortunately this type of display can be hard to read by the sight impaired. To overcome this potential problem, Accuweigh’s Zac Bartolovic also supplied high visibility remote displays with the counting scales.

A&D’s 8920 remote displays were selected as they use bright blue Vacuum Fluorescent digits which are highly visible under all ambient lighting conditions and were ideal for this counting scale application. The remotes were connected to the ten sets of A&D HC counting scales by serial cables and installed in direct line of sight of the operators for clear reading.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and is a fully independent supplier with the ability to source product from a wide range of brands and models. Because Accuweigh is not locked into supply contracts, Accuweigh can supply the ideal brand and model of scale or weighing equipment which best suites the client’s needs.
