A Concrete Deck Weighbridge was recently commissioned for Yuleba Cypress Sawmills in Miles, Queensland. Supplied by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane, a Concrete Deck Weighbridge was fitted to existing foundations where a previous weighbridge had been located many years earlier.
QWM’s concrete deck weighbridge was custom manufactured to use the same load cell mounting positions as the previous weighbridge to minimise installation charges. Older eighteen metre long weighbridges previously used eight load cells with newer designs only requiring six load cells over the same span.
QWM's flexibility allowed them to manufacture the main beams of the Weighbridge using smaller 460mm high main beams to ensure the weighbridge deck was at the same height as the approach ramps of the previous weighbridge’s foundations. Load cell mounting plates were epoxy grouted into place and the new weighbridge deck was poured in position and raised onto the load cells after the mandatory three week curing time.
Accuweigh/QWM sells both concrete deck and steel deck weighbridges with concrete decks the preferred option for heavy duty weighing applications as the inherent strength of the added mass of concrete eliminates excessive flexing of the weighbridge deck under heavy vehicle loads. The weighbridge was commissioned and certified for trade use with a weighing capacity of 60.00 tonnes and a printer supplied to generate basic weighbridge tickets for all weighing transactions.
