Australian made Platform Scales were recently supplied to SITA’s branch in Canberra for weighing bins containing paper for recycling. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Lansvale branch in Sydney, the Platform Scales were fitted with a custom manufactured ramp for easier scale access.
Fully manufactured in Australia using locally sourced BHP steel, Accuweigh’s A500 Platform Scales are fully hot dipped galvanised with strong cross bracing fitted under the weigh plate to eliminate deflection under heavy loads which can cause weighing errors. The heavy duty design of the A500 Platform Scale ensures it can withstand the rigours of hard use far longer than cheaper imported scales.
The A500 Platform Scales were certified for Trade Use to allow for payments to be calculated based on the weight of paper received for recycling. An Accuweigh IT1000 digital weight indicator was connected to the Platform Scales to generate the weight readings which were then transmitted to a connected tally roll printer to print hardcopies of each weighing transaction, including Date, Time and the bin’s weight.
The two metre long access ramp allows the bins to be rolled on and off the scales without requiring a forklift to be available for performing this regular task. The A500 platform scales are suited for all typical industrial and commercial weighing applications and these platform scales are also ideal for pit-mounting with the weighing plate flush with the floor level.
