Underside of Skip Bin Scale Framework
Accuweigh’s Brisbane branch won a tender to supply four sets of skip bin scales for the new Desalination Plant at Tugun on the Gold Coast. These custom designed skip bin scales will be used for weighing the sludge by-product from the desalination process.
The skip bin scales are essentially a heavy duty platform scale with specially designed side beams for guiding the skip bin into position while it is being loaded and unloaded from the hook truck.
Weighing the waste was required to ensure each skip bin is fully loaded for increased carrying efficiency while at the same time also ensuring the hook trucks are not exceeding the legally permitted axle and truck weights while travelling on public roads to dump the waste by-product.
