Accuweigh’s Bagging System For Concrete Additives Supplier

Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch received an order to supply and install a turnkey bagging system comprising a screw conveyor, ribbon mixer / blender, bag filler and auto bag closer for Prestige Concreting Additives at Carrum Downs in Melbourne’s South East.

Prestige’s manager, Garth Hoskin, needed an additional mixing, blending and bagging system dedicated to handling product for a recently awarded contract the company received. 

The bagging system is designed to screw convey free flowing dry sand from an existing silo to the ribbon mixer mounted on load cells which will weigh 1500kg of sand mixed with a additive, then automatically discharge the premixed weighment into an inclined screw conveyor to the bagger supply hopper.

Once the mixer has discharged, it automatically commences another weigh cycle whilst the previous blended batch is weigh filled into 20kg open mouth bags at a rate of six (6) bags per minute via an Accupak GB50 gross weight bagging machine. 

The filled bag is released onto the moving bag closing conveyor to the Newlong bag sewing system comprising of a sewing pedestal, in-feed device and sewing head for automatic start, stop and cut of the cotton chain thread.  Includes digital weigh controllers, Allen-Bradley PLC, soft start controllers and all associated electrical controls.
