Accuweigh CEO Named in EOY Awards

Accuweigh CEO Named in EOY Awards

Accuweigh's CEO, Brenton Cunningham, has recently been named a regional winner of the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

The award was for the Western Region of the Australian awards, in the Retail, Consumer & Industrial Products category. Below is an excerpt from the announcement.

Established in 1992, The Accuweigh Group is Australia’s leading weighing, packing and process control company which, according to founder Brenton Cunningham, “provides improved service in an old industry”. This national enterprise is the largest industrial weighing company in Australia and turns over $24 million a year. As the largest manufacturer and supplier of weighbridges in Australia, Accuweigh’s exclusive agreements keep the business on a continued path of success.

Biography

Established in 1992, The Accuweigh Group is Australia’s leading weighing, packing and process control company which offers a full range of packaging and inspection machines, weighbridges and scales for industrial applications as well as high-speed check weighers. The idea for the business came about when Brenton was working for another company and identified a real opportunity for a business that could provide measurement services as well as packaging solutions, thereby substantially improving service in an old and segmented industry. Accuweigh was born when Brenton and his long term friend, Greg Brogan, became 50 per cent partners with a vision to build a business that would eventually employ people and provide them with a comfortable and secure lifestyle.

Within two years, the business had its own workshop/office and the Adelaide-based business had moved to Perth within four years. By 2000, two additional partners (Ross Waller and Dave Hatton) had been added and today The Accuweigh Group is a national enterprise and indeed the largest industrial weighing company in Australia, turning over $24 million a year. As the largest manufacturer and supplier of weighbridges in Australia, Accuweigh holds a number of exclusive agreements that keep the business on the path of success.

Brenton is adamant that he has the best Partners/Directors possible (Greg, Dave and Ross), great PAs, a fantastic management team and good staff all round. He is proud of his business accomplishments particularly given his upbringing, surviving on a limited income and without a father. It has always been his goal to be financially comfortable and to provide for his family. Brenton’s success has also allowed him to assist his elderly mother to purchase her own home in Adelaide, one of Brenton’s top five personal achievements.
