An existing bag filling system was recently upgraded with a new PLC for controlling all filling and logic operations of the bagging and bag sewing lines.
Accuweigh’s Brisbane North branch performed the filling system upgrade for Riverina Stockfeeds’ Oakey plant near Toowoomba.
This QWM manufactured filling system was originally sold to Riverina in the early 90’s and has competently performed nearly 15 years of bagging operations without a glitch until the aging PLC originally fitted to the bagging system started failing recently. After a favourable review of the overall condition of the bag filling system proved very favourable, the PLC was replaced by an Allen Bradley Micro Logix 1200 PLC.
QWM’s bag filling systems are based on dual auger fed net weighers and this system is used for bagging cotton seed. As a result of the PLC upgrade, this filling system now is now expected to last through many more years of bag filling operations.
