BHP’S KIBBLES WEIGHED ON INGROUND PLATFORM SCALES

Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch recently commissioned inground platform scales for weighing kibbles filled with copper ore from BHP’s Prominent Hill mine. The inground platform scales are fully galvanised and fitted with 4 x 30t capacity load cells for a large overload margin as required when weighing the 20t loaded kibbles.

After each kibble is weighed on the inground platform scales, an ore sample is also weighed on a small sampling scale capacity which is linked to an Accuweigh supplied driver control station (DCS). Custom software records the weight data from both the sampling scales and the inground platform scales and produces a printed ticket showing itemised weights of each kibble and the sample weights.

The DCS is linked to the network server at BHP so the system can also be accessed by office staff to generate daily reports of copper ore received over the inground platform scales.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has eight branches covering all mainland states providing sales and service support on inground platform scales and all industrial weighing applications.
