Accuweigh Supplies Weighbridges For SA’s Department Of Transport

Multi-Deck Weighbridge

Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch recently supplied and commissioned four inground, multi-deck weighbridges to the Department for Transport Energy and Infrastructure in South Australia.

The weighbridges are located at weigh checking points in Stirling North and Blanchetown with Monteith having two inground weighbridges installed.

The weighbridges were officially opened by Ms Lyn Breuer MP On Tuesday 20th January 09, after 8 months of construction with the stated purpose of the new weighbridges being to make our roads safer and help prevent damage to our roads caused by overloaded vehicles.

The operational advantages of Accuweigh’s new weighbridges include:

• Weighbridge lengths of 36 metres weighs full length of trucks and trailers in one operation
• Each weighbridge’s capacity of over 200t allows for future heavy vehicles
• The multi-deck weighbridge configuration displays the weights of all axle groups in a single weighing operation

Each weighbridge comprises five individual weighbridge decks (2 x 5m, 2 x 8m and 1 x 10m long) for a total overall weighbridge length of 36 metres. The capacities of the individual weighbridge decks are 2 x 30t and 3 x 50t with a total overall weighing capacity of 210 tonne per multi-deck weighbridge.

These multi-deck weighbridges are designed to weigh any combination of vehicle and trailer while also displaying individual axle group weights. All are in-ground weighbridges with a central man hole in each weighbridge deck which is lockable for security reasons.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has branches in all mainland states offering complete after sales service and support on weighbridges and weighing equipment by fully trained service teams.
