Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch recently completed a Weighbridge Extension for Kimberley-Clark’s Tantanoola Pulp Mill.
The Weighbridge Extension was required to cater for the new breed of longer timber trucks bringing logs to the mill for pulping.
The site’s existing 24 metre Avery weighbridge was extended by 12 metres by the installation of a new weighbridge section at one end of the existing weighbridge. The new weighbridge section was custom manufactured to ensure both weighbridge decks conform to local Weights & Measures Regulations for trade approved weighing devices.
The Weighbridge Extension was completed during a scheduled 10 day mill shut-down with the new weighbridge deck poured and cured before-hand on ground adjacent to the existing weighbridge. The Weighbridge Extension also required the previous weighbridge exit ramp to be removed, foundations poured for the new weighbridge deck and then a new exit ramp fitted before the new weighbridge deck was lifted into position.
Accuweigh’s R5000 digital weight indicators were fitted to both weighbridge decks with the total weight from both weighbridges displayed by a Ranger 6700 weighbridge summing indicator. The Weighbridge Extension was then weights tested, calibrated and certified for trade use.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest supplier of weighbridges and has branches in all mainland states specialising in Weighbridge Extensions for weighbridges of all brands, types and capacities.
