Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch recently commissioned the first trade approved onboard weighing systems for front lift waste collection trucks in Australia. Although the waste industry has not moved to charging for waste collections based on weight, SITA will be using trucks fitted with the trade approved onboard weighing systems to investigate client queries on waste collection charges.
The trade approved onboard weighing systems were fitted to two of SITA’s waste collections trucks fitted with the new 40 cubic metre bodies, which are the largest in Australia. SITA has indicated they will be fitting Accuweigh’s trade approved onboard weighing systems to all new front lift waste collection trucks and are also reviewing the opportunity to fit the weighing systems to existing trucks with reasonable operational life expectancy.
