Solar powered truck scales were recently commissioned for weighing trucks carrying grain for EP Storage (Free Eyre) at Rudall in South Australia.
Installed by Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch, the truck scales are completely powered by solar panels due to the lack of mains power on the remote site.
As the weighbridge office is mounted 70 metres away from the truck scales, CCTV cameras are fitted to both ends of the truck scales to enable the operator to verify all trucks are correctly positioned on the weighing deck to ensure accurate weight reading are attained. A two way intercom allows the truck drivers to provide details of the load and destination to the truck scales operator.
The truck scales office is powered from by an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) running off a local generator. The truck scale deck measures 40 metres long by 3.5 metres wide and is used for weighing B-Doubles and road trains carrying grain in and out of the new rural storage facility.
AASoftware’s Ticket Aid Pro+ Weighbridge & Truck Scales Software was also supplied to generate weight tickets and also provide detailed transaction reports as required by the client. Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has experienced service staff and test trucks located in each mainland state.
