An Onboard Weighing System is being used on one of Veolia’s rear lift garbage trucks operating in Sydney. The Onboard Weighing System eliminates the chance of accidental overloading which could compromise Veolia’s strict OH&S standards.
Commissioned by Accuweigh’s Lansvale branch in Sydney, the Onboard Weighing System has sensitive electronic level sensors fitted to the suspension components. A digital weight indicator mounted in the dash of the truck is used to alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if the Onboard Weighing System detects truck overloading. The weight data is combined with positional data from an onboard GPS and relayed in real time to a back-to-base monitoring system.
The Onboard Weighing system helps Veolia to improve garbage collections efficiently by closely monitoring the truck weights before they return to the depot to be emptied.
