On-Board Truck Scales were recently certified for Trade Use by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane. Three sets of Accuweigh’s LFT 1500 On-Board Truck Weighing Systems were fitted to front-lift waste collection vehicles manufactured by Superior Pak.
Accuweigh’s LFT On-Board Truck Scales enable waste collection companies to legally charge clients for the weight of waste collected. Although the waste industry has not yet initiated charging for waste collections based on weight, the ever increasing costs of landfill charges will soon force its introduction.
On-Board Truck Scales also offer improved collections efficiency as the weight of collected waste is clearly displayed to the driver. This not only ensures the vehicle can be fully loaded to its GVM before being emptied, but eliminates accidental vehicle overloading which could lead to expensive fines for all and sundry involved with the vehicle’s operation.
Accuweigh’s LFT 1500 onboard truck scales comprise six heavy duty load cells that were specifically designed to provide an extended working life. A digital weight indicator mounted in the truck cab in clear view of the truck driver generates the weight readings for the on-board truck scales.
