A multi-head linear weigher is being used for dosing animal feeds by weight for an animal feeds supplier based in Forbes, New South Wales. Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch commissioned a Budpak PLA-GV3 multi-head linear weigher utilising three net-weight weigh hoppers for fast and accurate dosing by weight.
The multi-head linear weigher weights the animal nutrition mixes which are then discharges into a Vertical Form Fill Seal machine (VFFS) for packaging and sealing. All contact surfaces of the linear weigher are manufactured in stainless steel for use in the food industry and also with polycarbonate doors to assist with dust sealing of the machine for a cleaner working environment.
The Budpak PLA-GV3 linear weigher was slightly modified to allow for direct discharge of the animal feeds into 25kg bags to suit the client’s need for also supplying larger bags. This operating mode requires the operator to attach an empty bag to the filling chute and operate the machine in manual mode to fill the required number of 25kg bags.
