Heavy Capacity Scales were recently installed at a Sewerage Treatment plant for Sydney Water for weighing the by-product generated during the sewerage treatment process.
Located in Wollongong, the Heavy Capacity Scales have a weighing capacity of 120,000kg by 50kg divisions. The collection hopper of the Heavy Capacity Scales is positioned on six heavy duty 30t load cells using an Accuweigh R5000 digital weight indicator to provide the displayed weight readings which are then transmitted via an analog output signal to the host Scada system.
The waste sludge is fed into the Heavy Capacity Scales by dual conveyors and then emptied into trucks for transportation from the sewerage treatment site. The discharge process from the Heavy Capacity Scales is regulated by the Scada system to eliminate the risk of truck overloading.
