A weighbridge at the Tritton open cut copper mine in NSW was recently repaired by Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch.
The weighbridge repairs were necessitated due to regular weighbridge load cell failures that were disrupting planned copper ore output.
To eliminate future problems, all six weighbridge load cells were replaced with Accuweigh’s AccuCell weighbridge load cells which are manufactured in full stainless steel and rated to IP68 for complete hermetically sealing to eliminate potential failures caused by water ingress.
The height profile of these weighbridge load cells are substantially shorter than the original load cells which will allow them to cope with the heavier than expected traffic numbers and truck weights now being experienced at this mine.
The entire load cell retro-fit was completed In a single working day, including replacing all weighbridge load cells and full weight testing, calibration and re-certification using Accuweigh’s own weighbridge test before the weighbridge was calibrated and then certified for trade use.
