A checkweighing system was recently commissioned for a Victorian supplier of components to the automotive industry. Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch installed the checkweighing system into the client’s counting/packaging line to ensure all pre-packed products contain the correct number of parts.
Accuweigh’s checkweighing system provides a high degree of customer satisfaction for the client’s customers by ensuring each and every packaged kit of parts contains the correct number of individual components as specified. All items are counted by a mechanical sorter/counter, then conveyed to a Vertical Form Fill Seal machine (VFFS) for packaging and then conveyed to the checkweighing system as a final check of correct package weight.
As the components are used in the automotive industry Australia wide, accuracy is of the utmost importance. An AccuCheck 08D3 checkweigher was supplied due to its ability of high-speed weighing of parts with minimal mass, such as lightweight seals, gaskets and washers. The lowest mass items to pass through the checkweighing system weigh just 2.59 grams each and are supplied in a pack of 16 with the packaging materials weighing as much as the components themselves.
Accuweigh's checkweighing system’s automatic reject mechanism removes packs not conforming to specification from the production line and stores them in a locked rejects bin to prevent accidental re-contamination. Accuweigh can provide checkweighing systems for every checkweighing applications – all fully backed by sales and service branches in all mainland states.
