Accuweigh’s truck wheel wash offers increased wheel washing performance while also significantly reducing water usage.
Accuweigh’s range of truck wheel washing systems are now available with an optional Hydrocyclone water filter which improves wash performance by ensuring cleaner water is used in all truck wheel wash cycles.
Accuweigh’s Hydrocyclone is a centrifugal separator that removes sand, soil, grit and other solid matter from the recycled water stored in the truck wheel wash holding tanks. The efficiency remains constant without any head loss build up and no clogging by the solids that are being separated from the dirty wash water.
Fresh clean water offers the best cleaning action for wheel wash systems, but as this is not an environmentally friendly option; the use of a quality water filter to continually clean the recycled water to a high standard is the preferred green option. Dirty water not only clogs the wheel wash spray heads causing a lowering of cleaning efficiency, but can also cause pitting to truck paintwork and damage to underbody components by particles suspended in the water under high pump pressures.
The Hydrocyclone uses no moving parts or screens and is powered directly by the wheel wash spray pump. Clean water discharges at normal system pressure through the wheel wash sprays while separated solids are collected and discharged separately at the point of wheel wash sludge conveyor discharge.
Once installed in a wheel wash system there are minimal maintenance requirements. The underflow chamber may be drained manually or automatically at specified time intervals, without causing any interference to the operation of the Hydrocyclone.
