A&D Weighing was originally founded as Mercury Scale Company in 1946 and initially focused on the design and production of mechanical weighing scales. A&D Mercury Pty Ltd was an early embracer of electronic weighing technology soon after its introduction in to Australia. Mercury partnered with A&D Company of Japan in 1986 and became A&D Mercury Pty Ltd (ADM) and then transformed into A&D Weighing in late 2010.
