A heavily rusted Weighbridge deck was recently replaced at a quarry in Brisbane’s northern suburb of Petrie. Supplied by Accuweigh’s QWM branch at Geebung, a custom manufactured Weighbridge Deck was fitted to the existing weighbridge foundations and load cells to eliminate capital expenditure for a new weighbridge.
The 30 plus year old weighbridge had suffered
substantial rusting of the main structural beams that help support the heavy concrete
weighbridge deck. A large 80t capacity mobile crane was organised to remove the
entire 18 metre weighbridge deck out of the pit in a single lift.
QWM’s Geebung factory manufactured new weighbridge deck
framework which was then hot dip galvanised to eliminate potential corrosion
problems in future. The new frame was positioned into the weighbridge pit prior
to pouring of the new concrete weighbridge deck.
After the mandatory three week curing period, the
weighbridge was fully tested, calibrated and certified for trade use using
QWM’s weighbridge test unit. QWM is a specialised manufacturer of heavy duty
